An OnlyFans star claims she does porn because it's “a message from God” and that her religious beliefs align with her work.
Courtney Tillia says she feels more connected to her faith than ever since changing careers.
The 36-year-old used to be a high school teacher.
But Courtney said adult entertainment has brought her closer to God.
She told the Daily Star: “God's message was very clear: I'm here to be a porn star. This is how I serve.”
The mother-of-four signed up for the subscription platform because teaching lacked “purpose” and left her feeling mentally unfulfilled.
The Los Angeles resident explains: “Before I left teaching, I felt very alienated from myself and from God.
“I didn’t know what my purpose in life was or how I was supposed to help people.”
Courtney quit teaching in 2016 and didn't give it a second thought.
Courtney said that despite some concerns about her new career, she was initially encouraged by the support of her husband Nick.
It was her Christian upbringing that initially caused Courtney to feel anxious and guilty.
“I was very ashamed of my sexuality in the beginning,” she explained to Star Tribune.
“I remember one time there were a couple of porn stars on a photo shoot and I was so excited.
“I can feel the judgment that society and religion have instilled in me, and I'm very aware of it.”
Courtney went on to say that she felt “their sexual choices and expressions were wrong and immoral. It even felt like that association was wrong to me at that moment — but it wasn't like God was telling me to feel that way.” “
The performer was an instant success on OnlyFans, with her subscribers praising her for helping them break free from shame around sex, which Courtney says is part of God's greater plan for her.
“I now reject any teaching or institution that portrays God as a fearful or judgmental entity,” Courtney said.
“God is merciful, not fearful; and accepting, not judgmental.”
Courtney said people are not “meaning to suppress or deny things like our pleasure and sexual expression,” but should “fully enjoy and embody them as God intended.”
