Everton confirm appeal has been withdrawn
Everton have confirmed they have withdrawn their appeal against their recent two-point deduction.
The Toffees were docked two points for breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
Their appeal is due to take place next week, with a verdict announced before the final game of the season against Arsenal on May 19, but the appeal will no longer proceed.
Earlier this season, the Merseyside club was docked 10 points for breaching PSR regulations in the three years to the 2021-22 season, but this was later reduced to six points.
Nonetheless, Sean Dyche's side have improved in form of late with wins over Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Brentford last month ensuring Premier League survival.
Everton's decision also comes after Nottingham Forest's recent appeal to overturn a four-point deduction was rejected. )
Although the Blues may face further sanctions due to the interest costs associated with building the club's new stadium at Bramley Moor Dock, this does not look like it will happen anytime soon.
