WhatsApp users have nothing to worry about

The WhatsApp community is on fire after WhatsApp made subtle changes to chat content.

However, after the changes faced backlash, the app has now confirmed that they will be reversing the changes.

But I hear you ask, what are the changes in question.

Well, for most of us, I'm sure we barely noticed.

WhatsApp has changed the first letters of the “online” and “typing” indicators to uppercase letters, whereas previously they had always been lowercase letters.

On similar messaging apps, such as Facebook's Messenger and Telegram, lowercase is the norm.

However, WhatsApp's new “Online” and “Typing” status indicators have caused quite a stir among the online community.

“WhatsApp changed online status from online to online and this makes me wonder… why is it making me so sad,” one user wrote.

A second said: “OMG I thought I was going crazy??? This really makes me uneasy.”

A third said: “This is so painful, I don't want to know someone is typing with a capital T.”

However, people will definitely heave a sigh of relief when they hear about the latest update of WhatsApp.

They told The Independent that they would be reversing the change and that it had only been trialled with a limited number of users and that they would not proceed with the change.

So whether you notice any changes or not, I'm sure we'll all sleep better tonight knowing that lowercase letters will remain the same.
