De Zerbi increasingly frustrated at Brighton
Two Premier League clubs are monitoring Roberto De Zerbi amid reports the Italian is frustrated at Brighton and Hove Albion.
De Zerbi is one of the most outstanding managers in the Premier League and guided Brighton into the Europa League after an impressive season last year.
However, form has dipped slightly this year, with the Seagulls being beaten 4-0 by Roma in the first leg of the Europa League play-offs last week.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk boss has shown signs of frustration of late and has publicly stated that he wants the club to do more business in the January transfer window.
19-year-old Valentin Barco is the only player to join the squad, but the Italians will want better depth to compensate for the likes of Moises Caicedo, Roberto Sanchez The departures of players such as Robert Sanchez and Alexis Mac Allister.
His comments even sparked fears among some that he could leave the Amex Stadium at the end of the season, putting both clubs on red alert.
Two big names are interested
According to The Times, both Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping an eye on De Zerbi.
Of course, Chelsea are still in charge of manager Mauricio Pochettino, but his position will be reviewed at the end of the season and he will likely remain in charge.
Chelsea also have the chance to win the FA Cup and secure a European spot, which will almost certainly be enough to keep the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain boss at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool face the daunting task of replacing Jurgen Klopp in the summer after he confirmed he will leave at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Xabi Alonso is high on the list of replacements but the Reds face competition from Bayern Munich, who want him to replace Thomas Tuchel.
Barcelona have also been linked with bringing in the Italian as Xavi's replacement after leaving England – another high-profile manager set to leave in the coming months.
