Conor McGregor has gone to great lengths to promote his acting debut, leaving fans confused when he commented on actress Sidney Sweeney's Instagram post promoting her new horror film.
Sweeney, 26, is a rising star in film and television, most recently starring in the hit series white lotus and rom-coms anyone but you.
She releases red carpet footage from her new horror movie, flawlessin which she plays an American nun who encounters mysterious events in the Italian countryside.
The film is set to be released on March 22, one day before the much-anticipated Roadhouse starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor.
In a bizarre act of self-promotion, McGregor commented on Sweeney's social media post, writing: “@roadhousemovie March 21st.”
McGregor's comment currently has over 30,000 likes, with many seeing the funny side of his unapologetic marketing.
User parknight888 wrote: “The promotional video is so genius, haha.”
Another user scathingly wrote: “Everyone is actually going to go.”
The 35-year-old's film co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Daniella Melchior praised McGregor's performance in an interview with JOE and suggested they could see He is rumored to play a role. Peaky Blinders Movie.
talking ET At the US premiere of Roadhouse on Tuesday night, McGregor insisted he had no “feud” with Sweeney and heaped praise on the 26-year-old.
“I see Sidney Sweeney a lot. (She) has been doing a lot of great things lately,” he said.
“She follows me, so I follow her. I'm a fan. She's doing great.
“I think she's saturday night live.I love saturday night live (And) it’s one of the best in years. “
Earlier today, McGregor confirmed he will return to the Octagon this summer.
He will face former Bellator champion Michael Chandler in a fight that will likely take center stage at UFC 303 in Las Vegas in late June.
