Definitely a Hollywood move.

Wrexham's ambitious bid to reach the top of English football shows no signs of slowing down as they prepare to try and land another big-money signing.

Under the guidance of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as owners, the Red Dragons hit the headlines and were promoted to League One for the second consecutive year.

The team is definitely in need of new signings to strengthen the squad and the Hollywood duo have set their sights on some big names.

One of the many names to be touted for a move is Jamie Vardy, who has just sacked Leicester City back to the Premier League at the first request.

Vardy's contract with the Foxes expires this summer and the two sides are negotiating to sign a new contract, but if an agreement cannot be reached, the 37-year-old will leave for free.

The Premier League champions have made it clear he has no plans to retire, with Rio Ferdinand backing the striker's move to Wales.

He told his Five podcast: “If he were to leave, the only club I’d want him to go to now is Wrexham.

“Because it has a little bit of a Hollywood feel to it, and I think he has a Hollywood career.”

Everyone knows the story of Vardy's journey from non-league to Leicester legend as he became the first non-league player to be signed for £1 million.

Vardy may have other options. A move to somewhere like MLS might seem like a no-brainer, but reports suggest Leicester City are close to agreeing a new one-year contract as the second-tier champions prepare for a return to the Premier League.
