“I just feel like this is something that needs to be talked about.”

A tattooed woman has spoken out after she was turned down for a job at TJ Maxx, known as TK Maxx in the UK.

Ash Putnam took to TikTok to make her claims that the clothing store would not hire her due to her piercings and tattoos.

The TikToker explained that she received a rejection email from the company with no explanation as to why.

However, when she went in and questioned a store manager as to why her application was rejected, and was told that she didn’t have enough experience for the job, and that there was ‘candidates that had more experience’.

“I asked her if it was about my tattoos obviously because I know a lot of places don’t like tattoos,” Putnam continued.

“She said that wasn’t the reason, I don’t feel like that’s true but whatever I will leave it at that.”

She went on: “Just because I have tattoos does not mean I am not going to be a good worker. I do not understand that at all. Quite literally some of the most smart intelligent people I have ever met are people with tattoos and piercings.”

The TikToker, who also earns an income as an Uber Eats driver and through OnlyFans, has tattoos on her face and neck, including a demon spider on her neck.

Her video has since gone viral and has over 8.5 million views at the time of writing, and has caused a huge debate amongst viewers.

“It ain’t just cause you have tattoos. It is the type of tattoos and the placement of them,” one person commented.

“HR supervisor here. There is no way any company would put you in front of customers like TJ maxx,” another person wrote.

“I’m a tattoo artist of 15 years, you have to have a set career path before you go big on face and throat tattoos,” a third put.

Putnam spoke to Daily Star about her experience, and reiterated her comments.

“I absolutely do think it’s about my tattoos because apparently my tattoos are demonic and scary to a lot of people,” she told the outlet.

“TJ Maxx did not say this to me – that’s just a lot of the comments I’ve gotten on my video. People are being extremely hateful on my TikTok saying I should work at a circus or Halloween stores.”
