A former Arsenal and QPR star will coach one of the teams.
Most fans don't look forward to the international breaks, especially when they arrive suddenly in the middle of a dramatic Premier League season.
The current round of competition comes on the cusp of the end of the season, with much at stake at both ends of the domestic league table.
While it's been a busy week for England, with two of those fixtures due over the next seven days, some fans have turned their attention to a bizarre clash in the heart of the Caribbean.
The Virgin Derby sees the British Overseas Territory of the British Virgin Islands (part of the volcanic Caribbean archipelago) pitted against the U.S. Virgin Islands (a U.S. territory located south of its British counterpart).
The BVI are ranked 207th in the world (just one spot ahead of their local rivals) and are currently coached by a former Gunners.
Kiwoa was one of George Graham's last signings for the club in January 1995 before he lost his job after a Premier League investigation found he had accepted £425,000 in illegal payments from his agent.
He was introduced as a striker at the same time as Scotland legend John Hutson and scored three goals in 17 appearances in three years with the north London side.
The Huddersfield-born footballer was not selected by new manager Bruce Rico for the 1995/96 season and found himself on the transfer list in January of that year.
He subsequently played for Ipswich Town, Queens Park Rangers, Le Havre in France and Aalborg in Denmark.
After retiring, Kiboa turned to coaching and won honors in the Arsenal academy and Ipswich reserves.
Kiboa took over as head coach of English League One team Notts County in 2013 and loaned Manchester City superstar Jack Grealish from Aston Villa while serving as the club's manager.
This weekend's “Virgin Derby” is not just an old friendly match, but a World Cup qualifier.
The two sides had previously met in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The U.S. Virgin Islands won the first leg 2-0 and the second leg 2-1. Neither team has ever qualified for the World Cup.
The distance between the closest points on each island is just 20 kilometers, and Friday's game will be held at Bethlehem Stadium in the US Virgin Islands.
The BVI are hoping stars like Taylor Scarff, a Brick from Plymouth and one-time Liverpool player, can make a difference in this run.
Scarfe, who now plays for non-league side Tavistock, told Plymouth Live: “Chris is mustard and you can tell he's been around professional football for many years.
“He was very knowledgeable about everything and knew what he was talking about. He is a very nice lad… The facilities at the hotel – I couldn’t fault it, it was top drawer. I had a room overlooking the sea , we had the swimming pool below and the food was delicious, really delicious.
“But they absolutely love the football there. They have a local league that plays on Saturdays and Sundays and they play on the same pitch that we use. But they are very fanatical and absolutely love it.”
