We may experience hot weather
With the arrival of April comes the hope of warmer weather, and it looks like we're really in luck this time.
The Met Office's latest forecast for the second half of the month shows “above normal” temperatures in many parts of the UK.
“There are no strong signals that any one weather pattern will dominate the other from late April to early May,” forecasters said.
“As a result, further rainfall and showers are possible at times, most commonly to the north and northwest.”
They added: “There is also the potential for some dry and sunny spells, with those likely to be more frequent in the south and east. Temperatures are likely to be close to normal throughout the period.”
BBC forecasters are also predicting, via the Mirror, that things will get better as next month progresses.
“Confidence in forecasts for early May continues to decline as weather patterns become increasingly uncertain,” they said.
“Global models predict a re-establishment of high pressure (an area of high pressure near the UK/over Scandinavia or extending from the UK into Scandinavia) and a trough/low over southern/southwest Europe.
“Temperatures are likely to be slightly above average, with calmer and drier conditions expected in the north, while slightly wetter and windier conditions are possible in the south and south-east.
“However, depending on the location of the high pressure area, the weather may become calmer and warmer later on.”
Independent forecaster Netweather has also predicted a wave of warm sunshine will hit the UK.
“In late April or early May, the weather may become more stable and high pressure may increase in the east and northeast, which may also bring warm southerly and southeasterly winds,” they wrote.
“There is some uncertainty as to whether this change will begin in late April or be delayed to early May, but it is likely that this period will be warmer and less humid relative to normal,” he said. Especially towards the end of the year. Period.
“As a result, rainfall and sunshine are likely to be close to average during this period, and temperatures may be a degree or two above the long-term average, although southerly winds are likely to bring greater warmth.”
