“I drank about eight pints of beer at the Yellow Wall!”

Jamie Carragher gave one of the most chaotic post-match interviews you'll ever see as he chatted to Jadon Sancho after spending the entire game with fans in the stands.

You can watch three minutes of the mayhem below.

Sancho put in an outstanding performance as Borussia Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals at Signal Iduna Park.

Carragher attended the game as part of CBS' coverage, but he wasn't going to let a little work commitment get in the way of having a beer or two with the home fans before the game.

The former Liverpool defender later watched the game from the famous Yellow Wall and took part in the celebrations for the home team's winning goal.

So it's perhaps no surprise that by the end of the game he looked more worn. But that didn't stop him from chatting with Sancho after the game, as he returned to the studio to talk to the rest of CBS Golazo's team.

Next is Three minutes of pure chaos.

Kate Abdo first asked Carragher if he was “sober enough to do that”, to which Carragher replied: “You know that's actually a good point because I haven't eaten much yet.”

He added that this “may explain why I was slurring my speech.”

After admitting he had “drunk about eight pints of beer on the yellow wall”, the commentator then gestured for Sancho to do a post-match interview, prompting the reaction of his CBS colleagues Thierry Henry and Micah Lee Chaz's hysteria and disbelief.

Carragher told Dortmund players that being at the Yellow Wall was “one of the best experiences of my life” and he was full of praise for the atmosphere at the stadium.

Sancho replied: “That's it, week in and week out, it's electric.”

Carragher told the winger that CBS pundits were “full of praise for his performance” but when the camera cut back to the studio, Henry just put his head in his hands while Alessandro Del Piero You can't contain your fun.

Carragher then asked the Englishman why he was able to perform so well at Dortmund, to which he replied: “I came here at 17 and they gave me the opportunity to play professional football… so I was grateful for all the work The staff and players are delighted to welcome me back.”

Responding to the interview on social media, one person wrote: “It's hilarious to see Carragher giving a half-edited interview, with the lads in the studio laughing at him, which makes it even funnier. “

Another said: “Jamie Carragher drank 8 pints of beer, was exhausted and invited Jadon Sancho for an interview.”

A third wrote: “Jamie Carragher shattered after drinking 8 pints of beer, interviewing Jadon Sancho… CBS never misses.”

Well, this was certainly one of the most unique post-game interviews.

It remains to be seen whether CBS decides to repeat the trick for next week's second leg in Paris…
