The Sausage Party sequel series is coming to Prime Video this summer.

Think back to the summer of 2016. The United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, the England team was eliminated by Iceland in the European Cup, and the eyes of the world were focused on Brazil's Rio Olympics.

In August of that summer, one of the most unique, bizarre, raucous and controversial comedies in recent years hit theaters.

Sausage Party is the brainchild of Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and James Franco, a trio who personify food and explore contemporary What actually happens when food is purchased and taken home by humans.

The movie also stars Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholz, and Edward Norton, and it's safe to say that anyone who sees the movie will not be impressed. Just forget about it (we won’t discuss that last scene here).

Now, Prime Video has confirmed a release date for the 2016 film's follow-up series Sausage Party: Food Paradise.

Rogen, Wiig, Sierra, Krumholtz and Norton will all return to their original roles, alongside Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell and Yasir Lester will also join the cast.

The eight-episode series will be released on Prime Video on July 11.

Those who have seen the film will remember that it ended on a nice vowel note, but that doesn't appear to be following up in the series, which will follow Frank, Brenda, Barry and Sammy as they try to make their own food society .

We have no doubt the series will be just as raucous as the movie, so you've been warned.

All episodes of Sausage Party: Food Paradise will be available to stream on Prime Video from July 11.
