Manchester City's fate yet to be revealed
Reports that 155 financial charges against Manchester City have been dropped have been dismissed by a journalist.
Manchester City have been accused of 115 financial breaches by the Premier League following a four-year investigation after they were referred to an independent commission for alleged financial breaches between 2009 and 2018.
Premier League chief executive Richard Masters stressed that a date has been set for the outcome of the investigation and the penalties City will face.
No further information has been confirmed yet, but there have been rumors in recent weeks that all charges against Guardiola's side have been dropped.
However, Daily Mail reporter Mike Keegan denied these rumors, posting on X on Friday: “There are rumors that the Manchester City charges have been dropped. Let me tell you this is not true.”
Pressure on the Premier League has intensified after Everton and Nottingham Forest were docked points for breaching profit and sustainability rules.
Leicester City will also face penalties next season for breaching regulations.
City have also been accused of failing to cooperate with the investigation and have consistently denied all accusations.
When the charges were first announced in February 2023, they said: “The club welcomes an independent committee review of this matter to fairly consider the full range of irrefutable evidence supporting its position.
“We therefore expect this matter to be fully resolved.”
