With everything he does, we never miss his personality
Jurgen Klopp's farewell tour of England will not end with a historic quadruple as Liverpool suffer a dramatic loss to Manchester United.
In what can only be described as an FA Cup record-breaking match, United emerged victorious, beating Merseyside 4-3 with a 120th-minute winner from Amad Diallo Sideside rivals and secured a place at Wembley.
A match that went down in history was ecstasy for Erik ten Hag's men but also painful for Klopp and his teammates. If they had added the Premier League and Europa League to their previous Carabao Cup success, they would still have had a stellar season, but losing to their opponents is always heartbreaking.
Klopp angrily withdraws from interview
However, Klopp caused controversy after the game when he appeared annoyed by questions about his team's performance and angrily walked out of an interview with Norwegian television.
Overall, Klopp admitted defeat graciously and congratulated United, but lost when asked if his side were finding it difficult to find the same level of intensity we are used to seeing from Liverpool. Calm down.
“If you see us a lot, I have to say, this is a bit of a silly question. If you never see us, then you can ask 'How can they have more resources?'” he responded.
“I don't know how many games we've played recently and I don't know how many games Manchester United have played. That's sport. I'm really disappointed with the issue but you think the opposite so that's good.”
He then interrupted the interviewer, who was trying to continue the conversation, and said, “Oh, don't you think so? Ah, come on, you're obviously not in good shape, I have nothing to say,” and walked away.
Many will not miss this side of Klopp.
Klopp's behavior after defeat will not be missed
In many ways, Klopp's behavior is exactly how most of us behave after defeat. When we win, we are ecstatic; when we fail, we are depressed.
But there is a line that shouldn't be crossed. After all, the Nordic TV interviewer is just doing his job and asking questions that are, of course, designed to elicit thought-provoking insights from Klopp or any other manager in this situation. No matter how angry he was, was this really necessary?
The German heritage is there for all to see. He revitalized a stagnant Liverpool side and transformed it into what is now widely regarded as one of the best teams in the world. This is the only team that regularly threatens to topple Manchester City, and does so by playing some truly breathtaking football.
There's no doubt that his presence on the sideline and around the league will be missed, but it's something that a lot of people will be excited to see.
