The Oscar-winning film isn't currently available on streaming, so now is the time to watch it.
Our TV movie selection tonight is dog poweran Oscar-winning film released in 2021.
Written and directed by two-time Academy Award winner Jane Campion (“The Piano”), this revisionist Western is based on Thomas Savage's novel of the same name and is set in 1920s Montana.
It tells the story of ruthless and tough rancher Phil Burbank (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and his brother George (played by Jesse Plemons)'s new wife Rose Gordon (played by Kerrs). Ten Dunst) conflict story.
That said, while Phil does his best to make Rose's life difficult, he begins to grow closer to Rose's son from a previous marriage, Peter (Kody Smit-Fey).
The Power of Dogs was praised by critics for its beautiful cinematography, incredible performances and surprisingly dark story.
The film has an incredible 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for 11 Oscars, with Campion winning for Best Director.
However, despite being first released on Netflix and being marketed as an original for the streaming service, the film left Irish and UK libraries last August.
As for why, Digital Spy wrote last year that Power of Dogs' original UK and Ireland distribution deal included a one-year exclusivity window for the BBC, which helped produce the film.
The site says that when the year is up, the film will return to Netflix in Ireland and the UK.
However, it seems the only way to watch The Power of Dogs at the moment is via BBC Two tonight at 11.05pm
