The first sunshine of summer is about to appear.
If you're sitting out the window watching the rain right now and thinking “we're almost mid-April and I haven't seen a sign of sunshine yet”, wonder no more, because the UK is set to experience two mini-heatwaves this week.
We had a tough 7 days as Storm Catherine battered the UK coast with high winds and heavy rainfall causing flights to be brought down.
Well, it looks like our tolerance will soon be rewarded because Network weather Strong sunshine and warm temperatures are expected to hit two separate periods over the next few weeks.
The first summer vibes will arrive this weekend, specifically starting on Saturday 13th April.
Weather map provider WX chart Temperatures of up to 19C are expected in London, Doncaster, Colchester and Ipswich. Expect to see plenty of London friends posting photos of picnics and Pimms sitting on the top of Primrose Hill on your Instagram page.

Things won't be too bad in other parts of the country, with temperatures expected to fluctuate between 11C and 17C across the country through the weekend.
A second wave of good weather is coming next weekend, so you'll want to plan ahead for any activities or barbecues you might have in mind.
Weather conditions will not be as impressive as last weekend, but maximum temperatures will still reach 16C on the 19th, 20th and 21st in places such as Kent, London and Brighton.
The weather will also become milder in surrounding areas such as Reading, Norwich and Northampton, with maximum temperatures reaching 14C and 15C.

The weather forecast for Thursday to Sunday shows: “On Thursday and Friday, it will become dry but cloudy in the south, but it will remain changeable in the north. On Saturday, there will be heavy showers mainly in the north. It will get warmer.”
