The highly anticipated new Lord of the Rings film has been confirmed to hit cinemas later this year.
The animated film, titled The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, has been in development for years, but thankfully, a release window has been confirmed.
According to ComicBook.com, the new update was announced during a Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon 2024, with a release during the 2024 holiday window confirmed at the event.
Peter Jackson's original trilogy is one of the most successful and beloved films of all time, and the release of The Rohirrim is understandably exciting.
The news also comes as a relief to fans who have already experienced release delays.
The film was originally scheduled to be released in April 2024, but Warner Bros. postponed the release to December in August 2023.

This prequel film is set nearly 200 years before “The Two Towers” and tells the story of the legendary Hammerbearer (the ninth king of Rohan and the last of the first kings of Rohan). story, and the origins of Helm's Deep Fortress.
