It is believed this is not the first time she has tried to kill him

A woman who wrote a book for her children to help them cope with their grief after the death of her husband has been charged with murdering him.

Kouri Richins was arrested in Utah last year and accused of poisoning her husband and father with fentanyl, a painkiller 100 times more powerful than morphine.

Prosecutors said Eric Richins had five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system when he died at his home in March 2022.

Curry allegedly told police she made him a vodka drink to celebrate the sale of his house, but when she returned from checking on one of their children, he was “cold to the touch.”

The development in the case came after an “unknown acquaintance” admitted to selling fentanyl to the mother, KUTV reported.

Investigators found Richins had been in contact with a person who had been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

She reportedly asked the man for prescription painkillers to provide to an investor who had injured his back. After she initially took hydrocodone pills, she contacted the man again about two weeks later and asked for “some Michael Jackson stuff,” specifically fentanyl.

Riggins recently appeared on local television to promote her picture book, Are You With Me? ” She wrote the letter to help her children cope with her husband’s death (KPCW.org)

Three days after she took the drug, her husband became “very ill” while having a Valentine's Day dinner with Curry, according to a probable cause statement.

Eric believed he had been poisoned and apparently told a friend that he believed his wife had done it.

Kouri was also charged with alleged possession of GHB. This is an odorless substance that can make people drowsy or relaxed. According to Sky News, this is often associated with cases of “date rape”.

The charges come two months after Curry appeared on local television to promote a grieving book she wrote.

The book is titled Are You With Me? ” is a picture book she wrote to help children cope with Eric’s death.

She told a show called “Good Things Utah” that children need to feel that a loved one's “spirit is always alive in your home.”

“You know, explaining to my kids that just because he's not with us, that doesn't mean he's not with us,” she told the show.
