The 57-year-old was filmed fighting in the ring and fans agree he still has it.
The video, currently circulating on social media, shows Tyson still possessing the fast hands and strength that made him the heavyweight champion of the world in the 1980s.
Yesterday, it was revealed that the boxing veteran will return to the ring later this year to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The event will be held on July 20 in Arlington, Texas, and will be streamed on Netflix. The fight will be the streaming site's first foray into combat sports.
Tyson announced the fight on social media with the caption: “We signed the contract.”
The video, which has circulated online today, has surprised many, with many claiming that Paul should be extremely worried about facing “the baddest man on the planet” despite the 40-year age gap.
Despite not having competed in an official professional fight since 2005, Tyson looked in great shape and made a statement of intent to Paul.
“(Paul) has grown significantly as a boxer over the years,” he said. “So it will be interesting to see what a 'kid' of will and ambition can do with the experience and talent of a goat.
“It’s an exciting full-circle moment because I started his boxing journey with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
Paul, who first rose to fame as a YouTuber and younger brother of Logan Paul, has spent the past few years focusing on a boxing career.
This included wins over former UFC stars such as Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley before he suffered his first career defeat at the hands of Tommy Fury.
Both fighters are set to earn millions from the fight, which is expected to draw huge crowds in arenas and online.
The news sparked criticism that Paul wanted to fight a man 40 years his senior.
One of his biggest critics is YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI, who was also disgusted by the statement.
Others described Paul's decision to fight Tyson as “shameless”, with another X user saying: “Bro, 20-something fighting a 60-year-old professionally.”
Paul's father, Gregory Allen Paul, who grew up idolizing the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history, was ecstatic to hear the news.
British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says he is “very sad” to hear the news that Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will face off in the boxing ring.
Hearn told TalkSport: “It's a big thing. I asked the wrong person because I love boxing so for me it's very sad.
“Mike Tyson is turning 60. I understand, a lot of people are going to be watching. But my point of view as a die-hard boxing fan – it's very sad.”
Boxing legend Ricky Hatton described the fight as “baffling”.
“Jake Paul and Mike Tyson can do what they like, but show me the contract and then I'll believe the fight will happen,” he told Spin Bet.
“If it's put in front of you then you don't say no and you have to consider the amount of money involved, but this fight is absolutely confusing.
“We all know Mike's history and what he's been through, but he's doing well now and still training in the gym at 57. He still looks ferocious and I've seen online his punching power, so I think Jake Paul is going to be in trouble.”
