Warnings have been issued across much of the UK
Weather warnings for snow, rain and wind have been issued for parts of the UK ahead of new storms this weekend.
Storm Catherine is set to hit parts of the country on Friday and Saturday. This follows a yellow warning for rain and snow in Scotland on Friday.
A snowfall warning is in force for much of Scotland from 3am to 9am on Friday, which is likely to disrupt many people's morning commute.
The warning extends from near Stirling to south of Inverness. Areas above 250m above sea level are likely to receive 2cm to 5cm of snow, and areas above 300m are expected to receive more than 10cm of snowfall.
Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning is in place for Glasgow and Edinburgh from 2am to 9am.
Meanwhile, yellow wind warnings are in place for the west coast of Wales, England and Scotland and across Northern Ireland on Saturday.
Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are widely expected, with gusts of 60-70 mph possible in exposed locations.
The warning covers Cornwall, much of Wales, parts of Lancashire and Cumbria, as well as central Scotland and Northern Ireland.
