A decision will be made at the end of the season

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino admits he is considering his future at Stamford Bridge and it would not be the “end of the world” if he left.

Pochettino has endured an up-and-down season in his first year in charge of the Blues but could end the campaign with a return to Europe after missing out on the continent last year.

Ahead of the team's trip to Nottingham Forest, the 52-year-old admitted his long-term future hinges on two factors: whether Todd Boley and his team-mates are happy with him and vice versa. If one party cannot reach an agreement, then the Argentinian is likely to leave.

“If we're happy, that's perfect,” he said.

“But it's not just if the owners are happy or the sporting director is happy. You also need to ask us if we are happy because maybe we are not and we accept that and we need to break up.

“This is not the first time a coaching staff has decided not to continue coaching at the end of a season. But in the end, it always backfires.

“It's always the owner or the sporting director. They can say tomorrow. Maybe I can say, 'I want to leave'. It's a decision made by both parties together. Because Chelsea are not happy, or the owner is not happy, or the sporting director is not happy. “

Chelsea's summer of change? again?

Going back a few months, you might have thought that Chelsea fans would have wanted a new team and new manager, but now, things are completely different.

The performance of the past few weeks has Chelsea looking like they are on the verge of resurgence and they have the ability to entertain and get good results and maybe even qualify for Europe.

Pochettino began to get the most out of the likes of Nicholas Jackson and Noni Maddue. Cole Palmer, of course, has been firing on all cylinders all season, and now there appear to be signs of progress to come.

His greatest asset is getting the best out of young people, and what Chelsea have lacked in recent years is consistency. Sure, things have been tricky this season and there have been some bumps in the road, but when is there no club?

It will be interesting to see how negotiations develop between the two parties, but it does feel like if he is given the tools, he will be able to flourish and make Chelsea a force to be reckoned with once again.
