Kate Middleton has issued a statement apologizing for “any confusion” caused by a Mother's Day photo of her and her children.
On Sunday morning, the family released a photo of the Princess of Wales and her three children – Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George – taken by Prince William to celebrate Mother's Day.
This is the first photo Catherine has posted since undergoing abdominal surgery in January.
But Getty Images, AFP, Reuters, Associated Press and PA Media have since withdrawn the image over concerns it was “manipulated”.
The agencies noted “Princess Charlotte's left hand is inconsistently aligned.”
Kensington Palace initially refused to comment on the photo, but in a statement on Monday morning, the Princess of Wales apologized for “any confusion” the photo caused.
A post on the royal family’s official account read: “Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing.
“I would like to apologize for any confusion caused by the family photos we shared yesterday.
“I hope every Mother's Day you celebrate is a very happy one. C.”
After the photos came There has been speculation for weeks as to why Buckingham Palace has not released photos of her since the surgery.
