“I slept with the director, so I got CliffNotes”

Jennifer Lawrence admits she can barely understand the movie she stars in, despite her familiarity with the director.

Lawrence is one of the most famous figures in Hollywood. In addition to starring in blockbuster franchises such as “The Hunger Games” and “X-Men,” Lawrence has received critical acclaim for her performance and won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2012 for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook.”

In 2017, at the age of 33, she starred in the horror movie “Mother!” ”, tells the story of an unnamed mother whose home is taken over by strangers.

Lawrence plays the mother, and the film's cast includes Javier Bardem, Domhnall Gleeson, Michelle Wiig and Brian Gleeson.

While critics seemed to like the movie — it has a respectable 68% on Rotten Tomatoes — many viewers weren't impressed.

The main complaint is from my mother! It's so confusing that even Lawrence admits she's not entirely sure what's going on plot-wise.

This was despite the fact that she was sleeping with film director Darren Aronofsky at the time.

during the appearance Watch live broadcastHost Andy Cohen asked the actor: “On a scale from one to completely confused, how much do you know about your movie? Mother!? “

After laughing, she responded in typically honest fashion: “”I'll be honest. Well, I slept with the director, so I have CliffNotes. So, five. Or four?

Aronofsky himself has publicly stated that “Mom!” was difficult for movie theater audiences to watch, saying that he “wanted to make a punk movie and come to you.”

Lawrence and Aronofsky met while filming Mother but ended their relationship two months after the film's release.

She has previously spoken about the impact working on the same project with Aronofsky had on both of them.

In an interview with Adam Sandler, she said: “Normally, I'll promote a movie, invite people to see it, and then it's not really your control anymore.

“I usually just let it go. Dating a director is different. We'll be on a (press) tour together and I'll go back to the hotel and the last thing I want to talk about or think about is the movie.

“He comes back from tour and that’s all he wants to talk about, and I get it.

“It's his baby. He wrote it. He conceived it. He directed it.”

She continued: “I was doing double duty, trying to be a supportive partner, but also thinking, 'For God's sake, can I not think about it' Mother! one second?

“I ended up thinking, 'This isn't healthy. Neither of us are doing this because if I read it, I'd start getting defensive. Especially because this is my man.”
