An Italy-based company is recruiting Brits who want to move abroad and work from home for up to a year.

Beautiful Italy has long been a top holiday destination for Britons, thanks to its rich history, pleasant climate and world-class cuisine.

Whether it's a weekend in Rome or a coastal resort on the edge of the Mediterranean, the country has plenty to offer.

Have you ever imagined staying in Italy for more than two weeks and opening there for a longer period?

Now, thanks to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity provided by the Italian government, this dream is possible.

a new one Digital Nomad Visa Guide Candidates are offered the opportunity to work remotely while living anywhere in the country for up to one year.

An ad on the company's website outlines only six criteria that applicants need to meet to be considered.

These include:

  • College or university degree from an accredited institution.
  • Have at least six months of experience in the industry in which they plan to work remotely.
  • Work contract and salary of €28,000 (£24,000)
  • No specific immigration offenses have been committed within the past five years.
  • Proof of residence in Italy
  • Health insurance

The plan is Italy's latest move to encourage economic growth amid an aging population.

Anyone interested must apply to the local Italian consulate before arriving in Italy.

The good news is that if you enjoy your time and don’t want to go home, you can renew once you arrive in the country.

Other countries have similar plans, but Italy's offer is probably the most affordable and attractive.

Japan offers an annual subsidy of £50,202 to digital nomads who want to set up shop there, while Spain has a very low minimum monthly salary of just £1,832.
