Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken their silence following the shocking news that Kate Middleton is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
In a brief statement released by Harper's Bazaar, the couple said: “We wish Kate and her family health and recovery and hope they can do so privately and peacefully.”
Harry did not reveal whether he planned to return to the UK, as he did when King Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
The Princess of Wales announced in a video yesterday that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was currently undergoing treatment.
This clip was posted on @kensingtonroyal Posted on Twitter at 6pm yesterday, it was titled “Message from Catherine, Princess of Wales”.
In the video, Middleton stressed that she was in good health and expected a “full recovery,” while also asking that her and her family's privacy be respected during this difficult time.
“Having William by my side also brings me great comfort and reassurance. As does the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us,” the princess continued.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you personally for all the wonderful messages of support and understanding you have received while I was recovering from surgery.
“It's been an extremely difficult few months for our family, but I have an amazing medical team who have taken great care of me and I'm so grateful for that.”
Kate added that their time away from the spotlight was also to help their children understand the diagnosis and her ongoing recovery process.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak issued a statement on social media, declaring that the Princess of Wales had received “the love and support of the entire nation” following the news that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

Kate's brother James Middleton posted a throwback photo with his sister as a child on Instagram and wrote: “We have climbed many mountains together over the years. As a family, we will climb these with you too. Mountain.”
