“Gibson Park is on another level here”
Jamieson Gibson-Parker's “shocking” performance in Leinster County's Champions League semi-final against Northampton proved why he is widely considered to be among the best nine in the world at the moment.
Leinster continue their bid for a fifth European trophy when they take on Gallagher's Premier League leaders in front of 82,000 spectators at Croke Park.
Although James Lowe's hat trick gave the team a 20-10 lead at the time of writing, many fans still couldn't get over Gibson-Park's performance, especially in the first half.
The number nine provided two moments of genius that set the stage for Leinster's opening scoring run.
First, the Leinster player swiftly took the penalty from five meters out before passing a fine pass to Lowe, who walked the opening try.
Then, just five minutes later, he displayed a brilliant improvisation. The ball bounced into the air as Kellan Dorris tried to drive across the baseline. Gibson-Parker didn't hesitate to slap the ball towards Lowe like a volleyball player, giving the winger his and Leinster's second try.
People have been praising the scrum-half on social media for his “outrageous” skills.
One person wrote: “Jamison Gibson-Parker plays football like a 6-year-old imagined. Outrageous stuff.”
Rúaidhrí O'Connor, chief rugby correspondent for the Irish Independent, said: “Jamieson Gibson-Parker is on another level here.”
He was likened to a guy who might have a sentence or two about who the best nine in the world are…
“Gibson Parker's performance was top notch. The final passes on both attempts were outstanding,” wrote another.
The winner will face Toulouse or Harlequins in the Champions League final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 25.
