A family went to a Pink concert and were left speechless when they were told they needed to buy a $180 (£90) ticket for their nine-week-old baby to attend.

One of the family members from Sydney told 7NEWS he messaged Accor Stadium to ask if his sister could bring a nappy bag with her baby to Pink's show as part of the So What singer's summer carnival tour .

He asked: “Can you tell me if we can bring diaper bags? Also, no tickets are required as long as (the baby) is confirmed?”

He explained that he and his family were attending the pop star's summer carnival concert and had no one to look after the children.

But when the venue got back to him and told him: “There is no problem bringing a diaper bag, but all attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter.”

The unnamed man pointed out that the concert was sold out and called the policy a “disgrace”, but AccorHotels was undeterred, replying: “It's the right age for this show. The policy is set by AccorHotels.” Sponsor. “

However, after the man told his story to Australian media, the venue decided to change its policy.

In addition to allowing infants free admission, they also upgraded family seating and provided them with better stadium parking.

The man said it was a “wonderful result”.

According to Accor's website, “for most sporting events, young children aged 3 and under are admitted free of charge, provided they are accompanied by an adult and share a seat and sit on their lap”.
