Speaking at the British Film Institute in February, Nolan said he was interested in the prospect of exploring new genres.
As part of the Q&A, he said: “There are definitely elements of horror in Oppenheimer's work, which I think fits the theme. I think horror movies are very interesting because they rely on very cinematic devices and it's really about the A visceral reaction to things, so, at some point, I'd love to make a horror movie.
“But I think a really good horror film requires a very specific idea. And those are rare. So I haven't found the right story for this yet.”
