Doesn't look good.

Earlier today we reported that Darwin Nunez had deleted all Liverpool-related posts from his Instagram account, sparking speculation about his future at the club.

Although the Uruguayan has scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists for the team this season, he remains a controversial player among Liverpool fans.

While the striker's talent was obvious, he was guilty of missing out on great opportunities as the Reds stumbled towards the finish line.

Liverpool, with one win in five games in April, have missed out on a chance to win the Premier League title in Klopp's final season, with some fans blaming their poor form at Nunez's feet.

With Klopp being replaced by Feyenoord manager Arne Slaughter in the summer, there has been much speculation about Liverpool's squad for next season.

According to the Liverpool Echo , Nunez has deleted almost all traces of the Anfield club from his Instagram account, now fueling speculation about his future.

The only mentions of Liverpool on his account are in his profile picture (still of him wearing a Liverpool shirt) and in his bio, in which he tagged Liverpool Football Club and the Uruguay national team.

Nunez has also reportedly blocked the Liverpool fan page from his Instagram account.

Some fans also praised the 24-year-old for being the first player to walk down the tunnel after Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at Anfield on Sunday.

Others suggested the posts were removed because of the abuse the striker had received from some online.

Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in June 2022 for an initial fee of £64 million. With add-ons, the cost could reach £85 million.

In his first season at the club, he scored nine goals in 29 Premier League games as Liverpool finished fifth in a disappointing season.

So far this season, Nunez has scored 11 goals in the league with two games left.

But he has started just one of Liverpool's past five games and has not scored since April 4 against Sheffield United.

Nunez has yet to comment on the deleted Instagram post or his future at the club, where he is contracted until 2028.
