It was recently revealed that conjoined twins and reality TV star Abby Hensel are now married, and after the internet reacted “loudly” to the news, the star has now broken her silence.
Documents obtained by TODAY earlier this week confirmed that Abby was married in 2021.
She is married to Army veteran and nurse Josh Bowling, and the two live in Minnesota.
Abby first rose to fame after appearing on the Oprah Winfrey talk show in 1996, along with her sister Brittany.
They later had their own show called Abby and Brittany, which documented their travels in Europe.
The sisters are conjoined twins, meaning they share blood and have identical organs from the waist down. Abby controls the right side of her body and Brittany controls the left side.
News of Abby's marriage to Josh has sparked a lot of questions on the internet, but now Abby and Brittany appear to have responded to it via TikTok, The Mirror reports.
“We've always been here,” the new clip says, accompanied by an image of a historical statue of conjoined twins. “The internet is extremely noisy today,” they wrote in the video.
The parents of the pair, who were born in 1990, decided not to undergo separation surgery after doctors said the pair's chances of survival were slim.
In a 2003 documentary, the Hensels opened up about their future plans and said they wanted to have children.
“It might be possible because the organs do work for them,” said their mom, Patty.
“Yeah, we're going to be moms,” Brittany added. “We haven't thought about how being a mum would work. But we're only 16 – we don't need to think about that now.”
