Take at least a week off.
Christopher Nolan is reportedly already working on his next film just days after winning his first Academy Award for Best Director at this year's Academy Awards.
The Oppenheimer writer-director has a vast slate of films, including the “Batman” trilogy, “Inception” and “Dunkirk,” which he always delivers within three years.
Now, after the success of his last film, all eyes are on his next one, and hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
According to The Puck, the British filmmaker has already begun work on his new film, and since it was announced in 2021 that Nolan would be writing the screenplay for Oppenheimer, we can hope that the time span from script to release can be as high as two to Three years.

After the release of “Oppenheimer,” Nolan joked that his next film would be “less bleak.”
“Part of me wants to put this story behind me,” he tells Yahoo Entertainment. “It's great to be able to sit here and talk to everyone about the success of this movie. It's a huge privilege.
“But the subject matter is very dark. It's nihilistic. Yeah, there's a part of me that really wants to move on and maybe do something that's, you know, less bleak.”
Of course, “Oppenheimer” is a pretty bleak movie. However, Christopher Nolan isn't exactly known for leading exciting projects – but there are some other hints about what he might do next.
If you look at his recent filmography, you'll see that it tends to follow the pattern of the past decade, switching between sci-fi and historical thrillers (Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, Oppenheimer”). This could give us a hint about the sci-fi nature of his next project.

Nolan's past sci-fi films, including “Tenet” and “Inception,” have included lighter elements, leading us to believe that's what he'll be focusing on next.
Nolan also mentioned that he would love to direct a horror film as long as it was “a very special idea.”
Speaking at a conversation event at the British Film Institute in London in February, he said: “I think horror films are very interesting because they rely on very cinematic devices and it's really about visceral reactions to things, so in some ways At that time, I really wanted to make a horror movie.
“But I think a really good horror film needs a really good idea. And those are rare. So I haven't found the right story for this yet.”
However, he did add that there's “a lot of bleakness” in horror films, so we can rule that out for now.
While we can only make educated guesses right now, what we do know is that Nolan is extremely secretive about his work for as long as necessary. He reportedly sent the scripts to actors on red copy proof paper, sometimes even letting them read them in their own homes.
Therefore, the likelihood of any information being revealed prior to an announcement on his terms is slim. All we can do now is wait.
