The 16-year-old could be in serious trouble

The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) is investigating a video that appears to show Chelsea prodigy Kendry Paes and two team-mates partying at a New York strip club while on international duty.

The video went viral on social media days after Paes came on as a second-half substitute as Ecuador lost 2-0 to Italy in New Jersey on Sunday.

It's unclear when the video was taken, but in it you can hear defender Robert Arboleda dancing in front of Paez and Gonzalo Plata ) while performing in front of him.

In the summer of 2025, Paes will officially join Chelsea when he turns 18. He was only 16 years old at the time. Last year, he became the youngest player in Ecuador's history and the youngest South American player to score in a World Cup qualifying match.

The minimum legal drinking age in the United States is 21, and those under 21 are not allowed in nightclubs

In a statement, the FEF wrote: “In view of the facts known to the public, the FEF states the following: The official delegation had free time on Friday, March 22, from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm and the schedule was fully adhered to.” Images of incidents that are contrary to the values and principles we defend and promote as an institution have been circulated and will be cause for future calls for analysis.”

Article 16 of the FEF Code of Ethics (published March 2024) states that any offense committed while representing the Ecuadorian national team will be punishable by a minimum fine of $1,000 (£790),

After the video leaked, Arboleda posted the following message on his Instagram Story: “From now on, my days off will be spent reading the Bible.”

Another video on social media showed Chelsea midfielder Caicedo and Brighton and Ipswich Town loanee Jeremy Sarmiento, along with several other team-mates, at nightclub TAO Downtown – but not in the video Alcohol content.
