‘He had one line but he kept saying it in a British accent’

Nicola Peltz Beckham has revealed she was forced to cut her husband Brooklyn from her new film because he “staring directly into the camera.”

The 29-year-old made her directorial debut recently with her new film Lola.

Nicola had planned to give her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, a cameo in the film, but was forced to cut him after he kept saying his one line “in a British accent” and “staring directly into the camera.”

Speaking about his role, Nicola told the Hollywood Reporter: “He had one line, ‘Hi,’ but he kept saying it in a British accent and he was staring directly into the camera.

“I was like, ‘Oh God, we have to move on, good lord.’

“So, Brooklyn ended up on the chopping block.”

She joked that he was “actually really upset that he did get cut from his one little cameo.”

Despite the fact he ended up on the cutting room floor, Nicola credited Brooklyn for helping make her directing dreams come true.

“I couldn’t have done any of this without him,” she said, “because he was such a massive support to me every day on set which I’m so appreciative of.”

Along with directing Lola, Nicola also stars in the main role as a 19-year-old woman who “is desperately working to save enough money to get her little brother, Arlo (Luke David Blumm), out of their toxic home dominated by their mother, Mona (Virginia Madsen).”

You can watch the trailer below.

Nicola and Brooklyn, who is the son of football legend David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, started dating in October 2019.

In July the following year they announced they were engaged, and they eventually tied the knot in April 2022.
