This is not good news for Bayern…

Bayern Munich fans will be banned from entering Arsenal's Emirates Stadium to watch Champions League games.

Defending champions Manchester City will face Real Madrid tonight as they continue to defend their Champions League title.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will face Bayern Munich. This will be the Gunners' first Champions League quarter-final appearance since 2010.

The other two games will be Atletico Madrid against Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain against Barcelona.

However, Bayern fans will be banned from entering the Emirates Stadium in Bayern's quarter-final against Arsenal, where the Gunners will have a huge advantage.

This comes after fans threw fireworks into the pitch during Germany's 3-1 victory over Lazio last month.

In addition, the team faced a fine of €40,000 after fans threw fireworks during last year's match against Copenhagen in the 2-1 win.

Following the Lazio incident, the team was suspended from single-game bans, prohibiting fans from purchasing tickets for away games.

“We have to accept this punishment. Not only were the fireworks detonated, but they were also deliberately fired into the pitch, directly endangering the safety of bystanders,” club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said via the Evening Standard .

“This was a clear breach of probation conditions and unfortunately an appeal would be futile.

“The fact that we now have to play away games without fans in support is a huge blow. A small group of individual perpetrators have done a disservice to all our supporters and the team.”

Security measures to be tightened at Champions League matches

Security measures will be stepped up for tonight's Champions League match.

Following reports that an Islamic State-linked media outlet has issued threats against all four matches taking place this week, UEFA issued a new statement announcing increased security measures at matches.

They said via Sky News: “UEFA is aware of a suspected terrorist threat to this week's Champions League matches and is liaising closely with authorities at various venues.”

“All games are planned to go ahead as planned with appropriate safety measures in place.”

The pro-Islamic State outlet called for violent attacks and published images of the Emirates Stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, the Metropolitano Stadium and the Parc des Princes in Paris.

According to reports, the roof of Real Madrid's stadium will be closed and more than 2,000 National Police and Civil Guard personnel will be under surveillance.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said they had “significantly increased” security in Paris following the “threat” from Islamic State.

“Among other things, we saw communications from the Islamic State that specifically targeted sports venues,” he said.

He continued: “I would like to remind everyone that just 10 days ago ISIS shared a photo of a Munich stadium and said action should be taken against stadiums hosting football matches – although all sports It could be a target. We are certainly having conversations with our partners, given the importance of the Champions League to football.”
