From the Millennium Falcon to “dark” islands, discover lots of weird and wonderful things using Google Earth.

On YouTube, a content creator claimed to have discovered a 400-foot-long “ice ship” in Antarctica using a satellite system.

The user named MrMBB333 said the “ship” was 100 miles off the coast of Antarctica and beneath New Zealand.

The date on the video shows it was discovered on August 7, 2020.

In a video shared in 2021, the YouTuber said: “This (ship) is over 400 feet long, 428 feet to be exact. Whatever that is, it looks like a ship. An ice ship, whatever Call it what you want, it's just this: a 400-foot yacht anchored off the coast of Antarctica.”

While there's no denying that the object does look like some kind of ship, there's no evidence that it is. It's probably just a weird-shaped blob of ice.

In the comments, people were keen to speculate on what the object might be, with one person writing: “50ft. The 'cylinder' could be a booster rocket falling back to Earth. Massive payloads have been used to get all the satellites into orbit.”

Another said: “The ship probably got there from the Bermuda Triangle.”

A third asked: “Has the ice receded in the area where the 'ship' is? It's just that the ice receding might expose the wreckage.”

But not everyone is convinced, with one skeptic saying: “The ice around the island melts in the summer, so if it was a ship it has now disappeared. But magnification revealed it was nothing more than a piece of ice.” “

This isn't the only bizarre Antarctic discovery people claim to have made in the polar region.

Some believe there is a “pyramid” hidden beneath the ice, with images and video footage going viral.
