Boyley will be replaced

Chelsea are set to appoint a new chairman to replace Todd Boley.

As part of the deal, the club's American co-owners can hand over the chairmanship every five years, with this to be achieved within three years, the Daily Mail reported.

It has not yet been decided who will replace Boehly, but one of Behdad Eghbali or Jose Feliciano is likely to take over until 2032. At that point, Boehly can choose to return and reclaim his minority stake if he chooses. .

Speculations about tensions between Boly and Clearlake Capital have been dismissed by Chelsea, with the pair in regular contact.
