Enough to fill an entire truck

A mountain of Stella Artois cans was removed from a hoarder's filthy house after professionals were called in to clean out the property.

Last year, Plymouth-based company Clear Junk cleaned out hoarders' homes, removing what they said was an “impressive” number of cans.

In photos shared by Waste Management on Facebook, numerous empty Stella cans can be seen scattered throughout the residence.

Matt Goodman, one of those involved in the cleanup, said the collection was impressive and it was the worst job he had ever done.

He told Plymouth Live: “To be honest, nothing shocks us anymore. We come and clean it up and then our job is done.

Piles of rubbish '90 per cent beer cans' but also included rotten food and old takeaways (Trash removed)

“As you can imagine, nothing bothers me now. We do it day in and day out, but to be fair the work is impressive, I've never seen so many cans. We manage to only Fill an entire cage dump truck with cans.”

Despite the huge amount of trash, Matt and two of his colleagues were able to clear the land in one day. As well as cans, the mess included rotten food and old takeaways.

Matt said: “There’s a lot of leftover takeaway and food wrappers, but 90 per cent of them are cans.

“We managed to clear it out in one day. There were three of us there, so we were really happy.”

But he was not hopeful the property would continue to exist in its current state and suggested future owners “need to tear it down”.

It took three workers just one day to clear the property (remove rubbish)

He explained: “The roof had been leaking for years, there were rats, there were mice, sometimes there was a cat in there, sometimes there was a dog in there.

“You can imagine all the food was rotten and there was no carpet where the beer cans were so everything was dripping off the floor. The smell was still there because it was all soaked through.

“To be fair, it didn't smell like alcohol. I guess it smelled like rotten food because this had been going on for so long.”

As well as specializing in clearing out hoardings, Clear Junk also works with vulnerable people, such as the elderly or those with mental health issues, to help them clear rubbish from their homes and get 'back on track'.

If you or someone you know has hoarding disorder, you can find more information about the condition on the NHS website.
