George Gilbey's mum Linda has revealed she has been on an emotional rollercoaster following the death of her only child George.
Ricci Guarnaccio, who announced George's death on Wednesday, said he had spoken with Linda, who told him she had been flooded with messages of condolence in the days following her son's sudden death.
Richie told the Mirror: “I'm heartbroken, absolutely devastated. I just spoke to (da) Lin on the phone and we laughed, cried and went through all the emotions. She wanted to send her condolences and share her thoughts with everyone. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful memories of George.”
Ridge continued: “It's been hard for her. Losing Pete[Linda's husband and George's stepfather]and then losing her son at 40 years old… it's been a roller coaster of emotions. But she wants people to be kind to Beautiful way to remember George. He was discovered in a pub and shot to fame on Gogglebox – he was one of the trolls.
“Then he walked into the Big Brother house with me and we just hit it off. He got on really well with everyone. I remember him walking around (the house) and he was like 'I'm with you guys' What are you doing? “.
“He's a ball of light. Obviously, we're the same age, lads, so when we leave home we spend a lot of time together.”
It was announced on Wednesday that the 40-year-old man died in a work accident. He is a self-employed electrician.
Police released a statement after news of his death broke.
Essex Police said: “At around 10am this morning (March 27) we received reports of an incident in Campfield Road, Shoebury, in which a man who was working at height fell and was injured.”
“Ambulance services, including the air ambulance, are at attendance. Unfortunately the man died at the scene. We continue to liaise with partners including the Health and Safety Executive. A cordon remains in place at the scene…”
However, the latest news comes as a man was arrested in connection with an incident at manufacturing company EGL Homecare.
Essex Police said a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
A spokesman said: “This is a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive and our investigation is ongoing.”
George is best known for appearing on Gogglebox alongside his mum and stepdad.
He became an instant hit when he joined Channel 4's second series of the show in 2013.
The family quit the show in 2014, with George entering Celebrity Big Brother that same year and making it all the way to the final.
In 2016, George returned to Gogglebox alongside Linda McGarry and Pete McGarry, entertaining audiences around the world.
Unfortunately, George's stepfather Pete died suddenly in 2021 at the age of 71, and just a few days later, George was told that he only had a few months to live.
Linda said she was “devastated” by her son's death.
She said: “Pete was a lovely man and I was lucky to be with him for 25 years. I said to him, 'Not only have we been together for 25 years, but we've been together day and night. He's mine. life.
“I got a message from a guy I knew who said: 'The average person won't be remembered, but we will always remember Pete – like the pyramids.'” I thought that was beautiful. He was also proud of George when he was on Big Brother. He and George really loved each other. George was really sad. “
