Netflix has just added all eight seasons of Dexter to the site, and it has reignited a debate as to who the best villain in TV is.
Well, it seems that following the revival of popularity in Dexter, viewers are set on John Lithgow’s character as being one of the most underrated candidates.
The show, which first came out in 2006, has to be one of the bloodiest binge watches out there.
Following Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, the series chronicles his journey as a forensic technician while living a parallel life as a serial killer.
The first season was based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, before the show went on to give the characters a fresh life of their own.
Also starring Jennifer Carpenter, C.S. Lee, David Zaynes and James Remar alongside Hall, the show quickly became a fan favourite when it originally aired 20 years ago.
However, now it’s recently landed on Netflix, it has been introduced to a whole new audience.

People have taken to social media to share their excitement at getting to meet one of the greatest villains of all time – Lithgow’s Trinity Killer.
The character is first introduced in the fourth season of the show, and he really shakes things up.
The Trinity Killer, whose real name is Arthur Mitchell, is a serial killer who gets away with his crimes by disguising himself as a well-meaning family man and upstanding member of his community.
Viewers have taken to social media to share their thoughts on Lithgow’s character being one of the greatest villains of all time.
“John Lithgow in Dexter was by far the most AMAZING villain ever,” one person wrote.
“John Lithgow is an underrated TV villain,” another penned.
A third put: “I’m sorry but John Lithgow’s character in Dexter is the scariest villain on TV.”
