Some people expect “the ramp system will take me to the top of the mountain”
Disgruntled tourists have accused Ben Nevis of being “too high”, having a “lack of 4G signal” and are angry they “can't even get to a McDonald's there”.
As the highest mountain in the UK, it is one of the UK's most famous landmarks and offers stunning views of Scotland.
Every year, more than 100,000 people visit the mountain to enjoy the stunning views of the Scottish Highlands.
But it seems not everyone is happy to leave.
Some people left the attraction feeling overwhelmed – complaining about the lack of a supermarket at the top of the mountain and the number stones on the roadside.
One tourist attempted to ride a scooter up the mountain with a friend in a wheelchair, writing on TripAdvisor: “After lying on the road for four and a half hours, a lovely family took turns carrying me up the mountain.”
But once she reached the top, she found more disappointment.
She said: “There wasn't a shop. I almost died and I couldn't even get a McDonald's!!!”
Another visitor, who had difficulty hiking with his stroller chair, said: “I was hoping there would be a ramp system that would take me to the top, but there isn't.”
He even suggested government action to make the road easier: “At least lower the height of the mountain, it's too high.”
Another unlucky visitor found the hike a bit too challenging and wrote: “Even the sheep looked miserable.
“About three-quarters of the way in, my patience with my wife ran out too… If you have to take someone, take a dog because they can’t complain about leg pain.
“The whole trip resulted in me losing all my hiking gear…and getting divorced.”
One man went a step further, using the mountain to reflect on the country as a whole, saying: “A lot of places don't have a 4G signal and basically this mountain sums up the whole of Scotland.”
When he finally reached the top of the mountain, in another unexpected surprise, he added: “There's still snow on the top of the mountain… I don't like snow.”
Another commenter complained that the road was too crowded and suggested there should be a “highway” up and down.
