The week that was: Trust vote, bomb blasts etc

Last seven days were very eventful for India.  First of all the Government  won the trust vote in Parliament. I never support Congress or its ideology. However, this time my heart and soul were with Congress as I coiuld not see any demerits in the proposed nuclear deal with the US.

Though there have been some serious allegations of horse-trading and some MPs showed the bundles of notes in the Parliament a a proof of alleged attempt by Government, all in all it was heartening to see that Government won with a comfortable majority.

On Friday and Saturday, we saw another series of bomb blasts in Bangalore & Ahmedabad. Many innocent were killed. In Ahmedabad, they even blasted two city hospital where injured were being treated. I don’t know how long it will go like this. As I wrote in one of my earlier post, in the present day India, consider yourself lucky if you return home unharmed in the evening on any given day. It is a shame to accept that we are the weakest nation in the world when it comes to fighting terrorism.

On personal front, I spent my spare time in researching the  web for some quality information on widget creations.  I am trying to create some widgets for iGoogle and other social media. I hope to create some cool tools very soon.

This is all I can write about this week in India.

The Great Indian Number Game

Would you believe me if I tell you that the future of much talk about Indo-US Nuclear Deal depends on convicted Criminals? It may sound unbelievable; however, the fate of present Government of India depends upon in whose favor 20 Members of Parliament (which include many jailed MPs convicted in serous criminal cases like  Murders) will caste their votes in the confidence motion which is scheduled to be held on 22nd July in Parliament.

After the withdrawal of support by CPM on the issue of Nuclear Deal, the Government is trying hard to save it from fall. In the same vein all opposition parties, despite their political differences, are also trying their best to defeat this government in the vote of confidence. Read the rest of this entry »

Indian Economy : The bad phase has begun

Indian Economy decline

Well, its been a long since I wrote my last post on Indian Economy. At that time the stock market was booming and I explained how the subprime crisis was proving to be a boom for India. At that time India was a darling of the investors worldwide and dollars were pouring in.

Not any more. The tide has reversed. Today the Sensex closed below 13,000. Its lowest this year. A state of gloom has engulfed the market.

What actually has happened ?

Well unlike the falls of the past, the current decline of stock market is related to many factors. The oil prices are touching new heights everyday. The costlier the oil, the costlier will be all those things that depends on it. Right from the Cooking Gas-the very basic item to the cost of airfare - everything has shot up. The transport costs of goods, the production costs in factory and everything in between - all has shot up. And this is the situation of almost every country in the world. Starting a category : ‘Tips for Indians’

I am planning to start a category by the name ‘Tips for Indians’.  I have started this because there is almost a complete absence of sites which exclusively deal with various problems faced by Indians. I hope that this category will help me organize all the tips which are particularly useful for Indians.

This is just an announcement of this category. Soon you’ll see some new posts in this category.

Passing through a rough phase

As of now I am passing through a rough phase of my career.  My offline job just sucks. There has been too much saturation in this field and everyday the work pressure is increasing like never before.  Today one of my colleague got promotion and was transferred to another branch. However, no replacement vice him has been provided by the admin and we have been told to manage the task without him. Since he was managing his allotted job quite efficiently, loosing him to another section will mean a further increase in work pressure. Till late evening negotiations were going on to post him back. Let us see what happens.

My online business has been sidelined owing to  these pressing circumstances at office and home. I know that I need to write regular articles in for my niches sites to keep them fresh and attractive. I also need to use various promotion method to promote them to ensure a regular flow of visitors. However, all this has become almost unmanageable and tough. When you come home from office totally exhausted and spend the evening with your little kid, the task of managing a part-time online business gets sidelined.

Different phase of life demands different sets of priority. I am learning this lesson these days:)

Sleeping With The Enemy : An article every Indian should read

The nuclear issue in India is becoming hotter and hotter day by day. As the Government proceeds towards completing its 5 years in power, the pressure is mounting on it to sign the nuclear deal with the US and ensures a secure energy future for India. However, still now the government is undecided what it should do given the relentless opposition of this deal by the Left Front. In fact the congress led government is making a huge blunder by not going with the deal and delaying it for the pressure tactics of left front. India and its foreign policy is certain to be hugely embarrassed because of this. As the US Government is also completing its tenure, it is unlikely that the next president (probably Obama) will show the same enthusiasm towards this deal.

I strongly recommend all Indians out there to read this thought provoking article on nuclear issue by Mr. K Subrahmanyam who is the top strategic affairs analyst of India. This article has been published in the today’s ‘Times of India’ and it will open your eyes towards what actually is the hidden agenda of communists in India. These communists are becoming more and more unpopular in India owing to their policy of every economic reform in India.

What’s the hot topic in India these days?

I have decided to be more regular on this blog. I think there is no point having this blog if I can’t update it regularly. I need to remind myself one thing that blogs are just like sharks. They need constant movement to remain alive. If I don’t do it, my blog will die. And certainly I don’t want my blog to die such silent death.

I hope to update it with more and more fresh, interesting and useful content.

One of the most dominant story in Indian News channels is the Arushi Murder Case. Fro the past few days, there is no topic as dominating and prevalent in Indian Media than the question of who killed Arushi ?

Just about every news channel is coning up with its own theory and its own version of the truth. This murder case has become one of the biggest murder mysteries in the history of India. Never ever India has seen a crime investigation topping the charts of TRP rating while sidelining even the cricket coverage.

As for the murder case itself, there has been no tangible development since the arrest of Arushi’s father who is claiming his innocence from the day one. Though his medical compounder Krishna has been arrested and has been put under Narco test also, it is still not clear whether he is the killer or just a ploy created by CBI to nab the real culprit. In any case, this sad incident of Arushi’s murder has generated unprecedented curiosity in India. A private detective recently said on a TV channel, “Right now the whole India has become a detective. ” Let’s see what happen in the next few days.

Miscellaneous Rambling

For the past few days I have been building a new website as an experiment where I will be selling a clickbank product as an affiliate. I have never build a site, which is completely oriented towards one particular product. However, this site will be like this. I am encouraged to try this experiment of building a site around one particular product after reading some blog posts of a few highly successful affiliate marketers who are applying this strategy quite successfully. So my entire online energy is being spent on planning/promoting this site.

As the site is just in its infant stages with no back links, it would not be proper to reveal its name here. However, if it becomes a profitable one, I’ll surely write about my experience of building/promoting this website.

Working alone has its own merits and demerits. I am also seriously thinking to outsource some of my work so as to burden my pressure. As of now, negotiations are on with a freelancer who will (in all probability) be my first employee.

Life in India is what you can call ‘Business as usual’. Rally, bandh, strike, increasing inflation, cricket and stupid reality shows have become part and parcel of a typical Indian life. The best way to describe India is to call it ‘A comfortable anarchy’ where everything is possible provided you have the right approach and where nothing is possible if your stars are not in your favour.

Well, lots of things here, which remain, unsaid. Hope to find time and write about them soon.

A murder that shocked India

It could not be more shocking than this. A 14 year girl Arushi was brutally murdered in her Noida house on 15th May. The domestic servant who was missing since the incident was discovered dead on the roof of the house. Arushi was the daughter of a very successful doctor couple.

Today, the Police revealed that the girl was murdered by her father. It has been brought out that the father had an illicit relationship with a woman. Her daughter was aware of this relationship and she allegedly developed some kind of intimacy with the domestic servant at home. On the day of murder, when father came to home at night she found her daughter in some objectionable position with the servant. This made him furious and he killed both of them.
