During the last financial year (2005-2006), 75 million people traveled by air in India. A big figure. Isn’t it ?

But do you know, in how many days this number of people traveled by train in India ?

In 5 days !! Yes in India 15 million people travel by train every day !

Astonishing !

Further, Only 62 domestic and 12 international airports are in active use in India.

Mumbai and Delhi still account for 40 per cent of air passenger traffic. India has about 341 airports, some no more than airstrips, of which only 243 have paved runways. Whereas the US has over 5,119 airports with paved runways !

Truly we have a long way to go.
