The new look of Indian Blogger

Hi friends,

As I informed in my last post, I was in the process of transferring this blog to a new host (Hostgator to be precise). I had to shift this blog to a new host owing to its growing popularity (Really ?? well at least my bandwidth told me so :) ) and the storage limitation in my earlier hosting plan. I had a very modest plan which didn’t allow me to host more than 20MB of data in the server. In today’s world of Gigabytes, this 20MB storage limit was seriously affecting my future expansion plans for this blog. So followed this shift.

The shifting process was not easy as I am still a newbie when it comes to technical stuff of Wordpress. However, with the help of some excellent tutorials on shifting wordpress, I could do that. Soon I shall write my experience of this shifting process (the real step-by step process I adopted for this).

I have also changed the site’s look with a new theme and new header. The older theme, though very good, was not effectively aptly representing the page navigation structure of this blog. So I had to change it. Regarding the header, first time I have used a unique header for this blog as all my previous themes were used without any modification. The beautiful picture is of India Gate, the wonderful landmark in New Delhi.

I feel guilty of not keeping in touch with my online friends (especially those from the Blogger challenge), however, it has not been intentional. Owing to some personal commitments, my life has become very busy and all my online ventures are suffering because of lack of time. So if anyone of my old friend is reading this please be assured that I shall be in touch with you very soon.

Your comments on new look of this blog are welcome :)

  1. Congratulations Eklavya, on successfully managing to move your blog and for your new theme. Definitely a very clean template with nice font. Don’t stress we all understand limited time :)

  2. Eklavya,
I too find it hard to keep posting regularly while doing everything else life demands, not to mention all the things I want to do.

I like the new design. The royal blue is very rich, and makes a nice contrast to the golden yellow in the India Gate. It’s also nice to see a custom header. You have such beautiful imagery in India, thanks for sharing it with us.

  3. Eklavya – Like the others who have commented above, we all struggle with enough time to blog, and I still follow your blog and enjoy your posts.
I’ve been on somewhat of a roundabout recently, whether to give up on blogging due to time, and settled to give myself a minimum limit, that no matter what I will aim to make at least one post a month…that has helped and taken off my own internal pressure, and strangely am blogging more consistently because of it. (and instead of worrying, have begun to post again more! But won’t be disapointed if I only do my one post a month.)

Quality not quantity is what counts! Some of my favourite bloggers who I follow, only write once every few months, but what they write is wonderful.

Like the new theme nice and clean!
    Keep it up!

  5. I knew that something was different. I like this template.

Keep posting… And if you are bust, you can use autoposting from your wordpress dashboard.

  7. Dear Kiro,

Just one sentence : Hostgator Rocks ! I have never seen a hosting company better than them. I am planning to write a detail post about them. They truly deserve it. Go for them if you are serious about hosting.
