Or what am I doing these days that stops me from writing regular post on this blog. ? At a time when there are numerous topics to write about on India - the biggest terrorist attack on Indian soil, the ongoing economic recession, recent assembly elections, the regular PAK bashing, upcoming new movie releases etc.
Well nothing special but at present I am deeply involved in completing a project related to my professional life. This project was getting delayed for quite some time and now I have decided to complete it with single minded devotion.
That’s why no blog post on this blog. The project is very important for me and if I don’t complete it on time, it will result in a big loss - both monetary and reputation wise.
So expect some more silence on this blog. Though I shall keep approving comments, a fresh post is perhaps not possible for some more days.
A few days ago a friend told me about a site where a report is being sold for $67. This report is claimed to have contained the secret of getting #1 ranking on MSN search engine for any keywords. For all of you who are not very tech savvy , let me tell you that MSN is the search engine of Microsoft and is the third most popular search engine in the world after Google and Yahoo.
So this guy is claiming to have known the ultimate secret to rank number one on Live.com for any keyword.
He is also showing his result in a Youtube video. See for yourself :
By the time this video first appear on Youtube (2nd November I think), this guy was ranking number one on MSN organic search results for the following keywords:
Online Credit (online-credit.org, now nowhere in the results)
get rid of debt (get-rid-of-debt.org, now at number 6)
poor credit rating (poor-credit-rating.com, now nowhere in the results)
reducing debt (reducing-debt.net, still number one)
low mortgage (low-mortgage.org, now at number 3)
bicycle accessories (bicycle-accessories.org, now nowhere in the results)
debt assistance (debt-assistance.net, now at number 7)
You can check for your self by conducting a search in Live.com for the above keywords.
As you can see within a span of 10 days, most of his keywords have fallen from their number one position. However, this report is selling like hot cakes on Clickbank.com and has become the number one product in the Marketing & Ads category.
Just why on earth people are going crazy on a technique which can’t even withstand a period of 10 days ?
There are two answers for this question : Greed and frustration.
Greed because everybody wants to get the elusive number one spot on his desired keyword and make huge pile of cash. If you can secure a #3 spot out of 35,400,000 results for the keyword ‘low mortgage’, you can monetized this position in any way you want.
Frustration because it is becoming more and more difficult to rank on the first page of Google. The entire Search Engine industry revolves around getting top position in Google and it is difficult to get a top ranking in Google without following an intense and systematic plan of link building and content creation. In such a scenario , if someone gives a recipe to rank in top 10 results of world’s third most popular search engine, it is going to create massive interest among people. No wonder this product is selling hot.
Now let us come to the report itself. I have read this report and I must say that it does contain some very unique method for attaining top position in MSN. However, I don’t think that the creator of the report can explain why some of his sites completely disappeared from the search engine result.
Second important thing about this report is that contrary to what has been claimed by the author, you can not rank your existing website for the desired keyword. One of the most important prerequisite of this technique is to have your domain name exactly the same as your keywords. For example see the above list, all keywords and their domain names are identical (reducing debt : reducing-debt.net etc)
Apart from the above, there is a powerful link rotating suggestion in the report which keeps creating new links for your desired domain. I shall not reveal about this method as it will be disclosing too much info.
However, I think that this report is highly overpriced for the info it provides. All of you who have some experience of SEO must know that MSN’s search results are heavily favored towards domains name containing exact keywords in them. Let me show you this with an example.
Every month the keyword ‘Make money on internet’ is searched 1900 times (as exact search), 4400 time (as phrase search) and 49500 times (as broad search) on Google. Though most of this search are conducted on Google, assuming that some percentage of search on this keyword also comes to MSN, we should assume that there must be some competitive sites in the top 10 search results of MSN for this keyword.
However, if you search the keyword ‘make money on internet’ (without quotes), you will find that out of a total 154,000,000 results, the number 9 position is occupied by a website where not even a single article is written !!
Here is this site. Just a freshly installed WordPress blog !
So this is the situation of MSN. No wonder a guy finds a loophole to control MSN’s search engine results.
For all those who are interested in clicking that MSN loophole report click here
There’s always something warm and bright, about this time of the year, when everything has a special glow, and hearts are full of cheer, that’s why, this special greeting comes your way, to wish you all life’s best, on Diwali and in the coming year, too.
The present times are tense for India. Fear of terrorist attacks, a falling stock market and depression in the economy has snatched the joy and enthusiasm of people to a great extent. Nevertheless, Diwali is a day of celebration and I pray to God that everything becomes fine in the coming days.
Wishing all fellow Indians a very happy and prosperous Diwali filled with hope & light.
My last post was on 14th September, just one day after the serial bomb blasts in Delhi. Since then I got a few chance to write but somehow I just kept staring at my monitor screen and didn’t write any new posts. For the past one months, I seriously think the logic behind this blog. Am I here to write all those problems which India is facing ? Will it benefit anybody? Can my writing help somebody? Or am I just wasting my time (as one reader pointed to me in the Raj Thackeray’s post). Seriously sometimes our mental state makes us go inwards for an inner evaluation of our intentions.
India is passing through a very rough phase these days. Never before I saw the imprints of fear so clearly on the faces of people. People have started avoiding crowded markets, festival gatherings and other busy places. A sense of insecurities have pervaded the whole nation. Terrorism has started affecting our life style.
Apart from terrorism, the global financial crisis is looming large on India. Our stock markets are at an all time low. From 21,000 in January this year, the SENSEX has nosedived on 11,000. There are some valid fears that it can soon fall below 10,000. Millions of people have lost their hard earned money in the markets. The Rupee is daily loosing its strength against Dollar. As a result our import bill (especially Oil Bill) is going to cost us a huge sum of money.
The internal law & order of the country is also in doldrums. In Orissa the Hindu -Christian clashes are becoming serious and violent everyday. in Assam, the Muslims and Bodo people are fighting a bloddy battle.
What pains me very badly is the attitude of our politicians in tackling such problems of national importance. A criminal tendency of looking every problem from the point of view of VoteBank has become prevalent in our so called leaders. In Orissa they are ready to impose President Rule just because an opposition party is in power. But in Assam, they are not uttering a word on Musilm-Bodo clash because of a Congress CM. Arrest of some muslim youths in connection with a bomb blasts has given some politician an opportunity to atttract the Muslim votebank. All types of irresponsible statments are coming from our politicians.
In the recent senate vote on Nuclear Deal with India, the members of US Senate of both parties (Republican and Democrats) voted in favor of the deal. Their was difference of opinion on some issue, but since the nuclear deal with India is a matter of national importance for US, both parties were in agreement over this issue.
However, the same deal was vehemently opposed by our opposition parties. Can you imagine the Congress, the BJP and the CPM can unite on this issue of huge national importance to India. No, the national interest is not above party politics in India. Self interest of our leaders comes before the National interest.
All these things make me sad and disappointed. Will my writing this on a blog, which only a few educated Indians can read on internet, make any difference ? Probably not. However, at least it gives me an opportunity to express my frustrations with the state of my country whom I loved so much. It gives me a platform where I can know what other Indians feel about these problems. It is heartening to know that many Indians feel the same way as I.
Despite being in a state of despondency, I’ll keep writing on this blog. At least for the time being.
After taking a break of almost 22 days, I am here again to one of my favorite online activities - blogging. As mentioned in my earlier post, I had taken a break to proceed on the holy pilgrimage of Shri Sai Baba at Shirdi, Maharashtra. It was a long cherished wish of my wife ( who is a ferver devotee of Sai Baba) to take our one year old son to Shirdi for the blessing of baba. So We proceeded on 16th morning for Manmad (the near by Rly Station to Shirdi) and reach there on 17t morning. Apart for a darshan at Shirdi, we also visited Shani Singnapur, Nasik (Tryambkeswar & Panchwati), Aurangabad (Ellora and Ajanta). We caught the return train from Jalgaon on 21st and reach Delhi on 22nd. I shall soon write a detailed post of journey.
During these 22 days, many events of national importance happened. India won 3 Medals at the Olympic (which includes its first ever individual Gold Medal), Parvej Musshraff resigned from the post of President of Pakistan, the Northern part of Bihar witnessed one of the worst and savaged floods of India ever, the Government announced 6th Pay Commission for its millions of employees and India finally broke the nuclear aparthied and was entered into the group of Nuclear Supplier Clubs without signing CTBT ot NPT (a great achievment by any standards).
I would surely liked to blog on these interesting issues. However, owing to some very busy personal work, I could not start my blogging activities early. I hope to cover these topics in my subsequent posts.
I also got an invitation from Indiblogger.in for a blogger meet which was held in Delhi yesterday. Though initially I planned to go there to mingle with fellow Indian (and especially Delhi/NCR) bloggers, I could not find the time for this meeting. Probably next time, I will attend this meeting.
I will not be in Delhi from 16th to 21st August. After a one week journey to the holy pilgrimage of Shirdi Saibaba, I will return to Delhi on 22nd.
The best news story in India was about the golden boy Abhinav Bindra who made India proud by winning its first individual Olympic Gold Medal in the entire history of the game. I would love to blog more about Abhinav who many says has succeeded not because of the system but despite it. But my lack of time…
Last seven days were very eventful for India. First of all the Government won the trust vote in Parliament. I never support Congress or its ideology. However, this time my heart and soul were with Congress as I coiuld not see any demerits in the proposed nuclear deal with the US.
Though there have been some serious allegations of horse-trading and some MPs showed the bundles of notes in the Parliament a a proof of alleged attempt by Government, all in all it was heartening to see that Government won with a comfortable majority.
On Friday and Saturday, we saw another series of bomb blasts in Bangalore & Ahmedabad. Many innocent were killed. In Ahmedabad, they even blasted two city hospital where injured were being treated. I don’t know how long it will go like this. As I wrote in one of my earlier post, in the present day India, consider yourself lucky if you return home unharmed in the evening on any given day. It is a shame to accept that we are the weakest nation in the world when it comes to fighting terrorism.
On personal front, I spent my spare time in researching the web for some quality information on widget creations. I am trying to create some widgets for iGoogle and other social media. I hope to create some cool tools very soon.
I am planning to start a category by the name ‘Tips for Indians’. I have started this because there is almost a complete absence of sites which exclusively deal with various problems faced by Indians. I hope that this category will help me organize all the tips which are particularly useful for Indians.
This is just an announcement of this category. Soon you’ll see some new posts in this category.
As of now I am passing through a rough phase of my career. My offline job just sucks. There has been too much saturation in this field and everyday the work pressure is increasing like never before. Today one of my colleague got promotion and was transferred to another branch. However, no replacement vice him has been provided by the admin and we have been told to manage the task without him. Since he was managing his allotted job quite efficiently, loosing him to another section will mean a further increase in work pressure. Till late evening negotiations were going on to post him back. Let us see what happens.
My online business has been sidelined owing to these pressing circumstances at office and home. I know that I need to write regular articles in for my niches sites to keep them fresh and attractive. I also need to use various promotion method to promote them to ensure a regular flow of visitors. However, all this has become almost unmanageable and tough. When you come home from office totally exhausted and spend the evening with your little kid, the task of managing a part-time online business gets sidelined.
Different phase of life demands different sets of priority. I am learning this lesson these days:)
