Yes, you can call it the mother of all ‘I should not be alive‘ series of Discovery channel. This incident happened a few days ago in Western India. A seven-month old fetus which fell through the toilet bowl of a running train when the mother went to ease herself still lives on!
This incredible story of a tiny newborn, weighing just 1.4Kg, which slipped from the womb into the toilet tube and crashed on rocks between two steel tracks, is sure to find a place in the top survival tales of the world.

The child’s mother, Bhuri Kalbi, 33, a resident of Swaroopganj - a village between Sirohi and Abu Road in Rajashthan - was travelling on an overnight train to Ahmedabad with relatives for a medical checkup. Read the rest of this entry »

Hi friends,
As I informed in my last post, I was in the process of transferring this blog to a new host (Hostgator to be precise). I had to shift this blog to a new host owing to its growing popularity (Really ?? well at least my bandwidth told me so
) and the storage limitation in my earlier hosting plan. I had a very modest plan which didn’t allow me to host more than 20MB of data in the server. In today’s world of Gigabytes, this 20MB storage limit was seriously affecting my future expansion plans for this blog. So followed this shift.
The shifting process was not easy as I am still a newbie when it comes to technical stuff of Wordpress. However, with the help of some excellent tutorials on shifting wordpress, I could do that. Soon I shall write my experience of this shifting process (the real step-by step process I adopted for this).
I have also changed the site’s look with a new theme and new header. The older theme, though very good, was not effectively aptly representing the page navigation structure of this blog. So I had to change it. Regarding the header, first time I have used a unique header for this blog as all my previous themes were used without any modification. The beautiful picture is of India Gate, the wonderful landmark in New Delhi.
I feel guilty of not keeping in touch with my online friends (especially those from the Blogger challenge), however, it has not been intentional. Owing to some personal commitments, my life has become very busy and all my online ventures are suffering because of lack of time. So if anyone of my old friend is reading this please be assured that I shall be in touch with you very soon.
Your comments on new look of this blog are welcome

After my last post on Raj Thackeray where I wrote about the highhanded behaviour of his cadre towards North Indians, I got some very mixed responses from readers. Some were very angry with Raj and condemned him severely; some were sympathetic towards him and supported his pro-Marathi stance in Mumbai.
Yesterday he was arrested and, after some hours of intense drama and suspense, released on bail. This entire episode has helped him grabbed the headlines in almost all leading national news channels. Some analyst have been contemplating that, after this episode, Raj has become a hero of a large section of Maharashtrian society. . Read the rest of this entry »

Mumbai, the financial capital of India, is in the grip of violence & turmoil these days. All because of a novice politician who is hell-bent on proving himself as the greatest savior of Maratha pride second only to the legendary great Shivaji of 17th Century. This politician is Raj Thackeray , the nephew of Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackray, and head of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Raj has been giving anti- North Indians statements for quite sometime and is ridiculing the festivals of Northern India (particularly the Chhat festival of Bihar). Just a few days back, he alleged the superstar Amitabh Bachchan of not doing enough for Maharashtra and insulted him for his love for the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). Amitabh, who originally belongs to Allahabad (a city of UP) is very close to a North Indian politician Amar Singh of Samajwadi Party in UP.
Raj Thackeray publically insulted Amar Singh, questioned the integrity of Amitabh and declared that Amar Singh will not be allowed to enter into Mumbai. He warned all North Indians to behave themselves in Mumbai. Read the rest of this entry »

Are the human beings loosing their innocence ? I was hoping that at least our children are living in a age of innocence and they are the last lot of carefree people on earth. However, today I read a shocking (at least for me it’s really shocking) question being asked by a 12 year old girl who was inquiring about having safe sex with her 12 year old boyfriend ! They already had sex earlier (though not very successfully) and are planning to have it again on the boy’s birthday. The girl want to know about appropriate condom size for the brat.
My goodness ! What is happening to this world ? Where are the parents ?
Read this question here : Yahoo Answers
The only respite is the people who answered this question. They admonished the girl and told her about the risks involved in having sex in such younger age.
I hope such things do not become trends and at least our children remain innocent for some more time.
