Well I am not getting much time to read something offline. A busy full time job and evening commitment with my little son leave me almost no time for reading. However, I have recently build a new folder in my Google reader where I have collected blogfeeds of those people who are making/plan to make their living by working online. These bloggers are a very interesting lot. Some of them are veteran and have become quite an expert in earning online, some are in the intermediate stage and some are just beginners. It will be interesting to watch how these people perform in 2008 in their field of interest which is ‘Making money online’.
Some of the most impressive are :
Ruck from Cash Tactics :This guy is awesome. He writes to the point and has a blunt and straightforward approach. His ideas and strategies just blow the mind away. In the opinion of many (including myself) his blog will become a huge hit in the days to come owing to his no-nonsense style of writing and his in depth knowledge & expertize in the field on ‘online money making’. If you are interested in making real money online, look no further. Subscribe to his feed. Read the rest of this entry »

Every dark cloud has a silver lining
A US depression is on anvil. Though not confirmed but in a hush hush way it is becoming the talk of the town. According to many experts the Depression in US Economy has already arrived. The mess of subprime mortgage has become somewhat unmanageable and is slowly taking the US towards an economic recession. The federal Bank of America is trying hard to keep this situation under control. The recent reduction in interest rates and announcement of relief package are some of the steps taken in this direction.
However, this US depression is affecting the world economy in a big way. US investors, in fear of a deep recession, want to liquefy their assets and, therefore, are making heavy selling of their stocks. This has affected the stock markets of entire Globe. The Indian stock market is no exception. During the last 10 days, it experienced it’s biggest one day loss and gain. The market is very uncertain and nobody knows exactly where it will head in the days to come. Owing to such fluctuations in the market, millions of small investors in India have lost their money and sleep.
No matter how bad the situation appears as of now, I want to tell something which is quite obvious yet very few people are talking about it: the positive effect of this US depression for India. Let us understand this in some more detail. Read the rest of this entry »

One of the most annoying disadvantage of blogging is that as you keep posting new posts some of the most useful and popular posts get buried in the archive . Except regular readers, it is almost impossible for new visitors to know about your best blog post. Since not many people are keen to search for the best content of a blog, unless we don’t make some effort to showcase our best blog posts on the front page itself , it would be almost impossible to let new visitors know about those post. This, in my opinion, is a very bad usability aspect of a blog style site.
One of the alternative to overcome this is to use the plugin ‘Popularity Contest’ which display a list of most popular posts of our blog in the sidebar. This, though helps a bit, is not the best possible solution as the popularity of a blog post is dependent upon many factors beyond our control. From my own experience, I can say that this is not the best choice to showcase our best posts.
Second alternative is to use another plugin ‘Recommend It’ which allows your blog’s veteran readers to recommend posts to first time visitors through a simple voting system. It is being used very successfully on it’s main site here
However, the best alternative in my opinion is to build your blog like a static site where all the best popular posts find a permanent place in the sidebar. I recently came across a blogger (Caroline Middlebrook) who has written a wonderful free ebook on this subject. The name of this ebook is How to Develop Money-Making Niche Sites with WordPress.
I read this ebook and I must admit it is a very easy to understand & effective book that explains the process of building niche sites using wordpress. Using the simple tutorial given in this ebook anybody can increase the usability aspect of his blog. If you want to make your blog easily accessible to new readers, you must read this ebook.

So what I would do in that case ?
The world is changing very fast. Everyday millions of people are pouring new contents on the web. I feel a little disappointed for not being one of them and not following by blogging routine regularly. It has happened because I am not getting any time for blogging these days. So here is a list of some topics on which I would love to blog if I had the time in my favor :
(1) Benazir Bhutto Assassination : In my opinion, she was the only leader capable of true democratic reforms in Pakistan. But alas ! She was killed in a brutal attack. Word’s most dangerous country has now become more dangerous after the death of Ms. Bhutto. May her soul rests in peace. Read the rest of this entry »

Hello friends !
Well I am already late in getting my first post of 2008. First a belated happy new year to all of you. I wish all of you good luck in the days to come.
India was livid for the last few days. And I really mean it. In a country, where Cricket is a religion, the treatment meted out to team India in Sydney test match turned out to be burning issue which overshadowed all other news. In every nook and corner of every city of India, this acrimonious test match was the hot debatable issue. The way Steve Bucknor handled the match with his extremely bad umpiring that appeared to be a partial one, resulted into instant anger and anguish in India. Thankfully today ICC has announced that Bucknor will not be the Umpire in the next test. Harbhajan Singh has also got some relief as he has been allowed to play the next test match till his appeal is pending.
Well no matter how this conflicting issue is sorted out, one thing has become as clear as a crystal – Australian Cricket team is no longer the best and the brightest team of the world. This team of once disciplined men, which attracted the admiration of the whole world for their professional game of power and performance, has turned into a bunch of wild hounds whose only aim is to win a match - by hook or by crook. I am sorry to see this unfortunate transformation of the team Australia which I once admired so much. The boys of Ricky Ponting have made me sad and disappointed. Their unnecessary aggressiveness and bully attitude has changed the way Cricket was used to be played till some years ago. Alas ! it’s no more a gentlemen’s game. It has become a display of ugly machismo where there is no respect left for the opponents.
The popularity of team Australia has touched a new low at least in India. From what I read in various news articles and blog, I think that Australian people in general are not happy with the way the team Australia match. Many Australians felt a bit empty with no urge to celebrate this win that way they normally do.
However, I think that, in the ultimate analysis, it is just a game. Emotions are momentary and slowly will fade away. There is nothing more interesting than to see a nail-biting cricket match- provided it is played with the sportsman spirit. I hope the series will be a success and this incident will not put any permanent scar on anybody. Amen !
