India the first twenty-20 world champion

Wow ! India has won the 20-20 world cup. It’s truly incredible. For the last 24 hours the only thing which is dominating the discussions of Indians everywhere is this win of India.

2020.jpg

The young Indian team has done the impossible. Look at the team. It came to South Africa without it’s three regular veterans: Saurabh Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Apart from that, the team came without any full time coach !

Yet, this team of young and quite inexperienced Indian players created history. In it’s giant killer spree, the team defeated England, South Africa and Australia in a row and finally it beat Pakistan by 5 run in a nail biting final. And what a final it was !

With all the ingredient of a hollywood blockbuster, the final was a thrilling battle till the last moment. Heartbeats of millions of Indians nearly stopped when the Pakistani Batsman duo of Misbah-ul-Haq and Tanveer started hitting sixes. Pakistan, needing 53 from 23 balls at one point, brought down the requirement to six from four. The advanced celebrations stopped and the whole nation hooked to the Television to watch what was going to happen in the last six balls.

Joginder Singh was given the responsibility to do last over. Six balls and 13 runs to win with one wicket in hand. The first ball floated beyond off stump for a big wide. The third, a full toss, was slugged over long-off for a six. Now it’s only six runs to win in four balls But then came the unforeseen twist: Joginder, not Misbah, was the one to hold his nerve.

Here was the moment when this extremely talented batsman of Pakistan could not control his nerves and played a very bad shot at short fine leg giving an easy catch to S. Sreesanth. As the last wicket of Pakistan fell, the whole country entered into a jubilation mode. The battle was won. We are the new world champion in the new format of this game.

Simply mind blowing !

There was a premonition to most people that something like this is going to happen. As the match was in the evening of a working day (Monday), many people took a day off. In my office, majority of the people started leaving by 4.30 PM. By the time it struck 5.30 PM the whole office had worn a deserted look. Later when the match came into full swing, it appears that entire India has stopped.

It is after a very very long time (to be precise after 24 years) that India has won any major International Tournament of Cricket. In view of the disastrous performance of Indian team in this year’s world cup at West Indies (where team even failed to get into Super Eight), there can no bigger consolation than this. I hope that this major win give Indian Cricket a major boost and the team will be inspired to perform better in other versions (Test & One Day) of the game too.

I am back & What’s happening in India these days

Hi to all,

It’s after 6 days that I got a chance to post. For a blogger, it is really disappointing not to find time for blogging..especially when your blog is quite new and requires constant updating. Right now I am facing this situation and don’t know when this problem will end. I was busy in reading various forums, researching some important information online and making strategy for future. All these things take time. Often I become nostalgic about those golden days of bachelor life when I used to have so much time.. But there was no internet then :).  Anyhow I’ll try to update this blog as much as I can.

Regarding India (the theme of my blog) many interesting things are happening here. A few of them are

(1) The Central Govt of India is in direct confrontation with it’s coalition partner - the Leftist Parties (CPM etc) on the issue of Nuclear Deal (the famous 123 Pact) with US. The CPM wants the deal to be scrapped as they feel the deal would jeopardize India’s national interest and make India a submissive ally of US (which in their opinion is the most corrupt imperialist power today). On the other hand, the Govt lead by Dr. Manmohan Singh is determined to go ahead with the deal as they think that it contains the key to future energy problems of India. Moreover it’ll open the hitherto unavailable market of Nuclear Supply Groups (NSG) of 45 countries to India.

In view of the situations which is emerging, confrontation may lead to downfall of the Government resulting into a fresh election. . In a recent TV Poll ,it is found that more than 80% people in India do not know what this deal is all about. Yet they may face a midterm election !

In my opinion the deal should go on. I have read it in detail and India has nothing to lose from this deal. The gains, on the other hand will be manifold.

(2) The Setu-Samundram Project and controversy : Setu (means bridge) Samundram (Ocean) is an ambitious project in the southern coast of India to make a waterwaythat will go between Sri Lanka and India. This project is just like the famous Suez Canal Project which connects the Asia and Europe without the need of circumnavigating Africa.

Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP) is about developing an offshore shipping channel in the Palk Bay, intended to cut short the distance for ships navigating between the west and east coasts of India, by avoiding the circumnavigation of Sri Lanka.

However, there are many concerns about the viability of this project which includes mythological as well as Scientific ones. The project requires breaking the Adams Bridge
(now submersible in water) which is considered as the ancient mythological bridge built by Lord Rama in the great Indian Epic ‘Ramayana’.

Recently, Indian Govt. submitted an Affidavit in Supreme Court where the Govt said there was no existence of Lord Rama and all other characters of Ramayana, thus there is no question of this bridge being the original Bridge built by Army of Lord Rama during his famous battle with Demon Ravana.

This Affidavit created instant negative reactions from every parts of India. For the highly religious Hindu population of India, nothing can be more offensive than telling them that there beloved Lord Rama never existed ! This is a political blunder which has brought the Govt on backfoot. Now the entire exercise of Sethusamundram Project has been put on hold. The entire Govt machinery is involved in doing a damage control exercise. ..Let us see what happens.

(3) Apart from the above two big news, there are some other tidbits which include- the starting of twenty-20 word Cup cricket (the hot discussions on the probable winner have already started), the fake sting operation on a Delhi School Teacher by a news Channel which ultimately boomranged on the channel and the very recent resignation of Rahul Dravid as captain of Indian Cricket team.

The best article rewriting software on earth: and it is free!!

The other day I got an email from an internet marketer wherein he recommended about a new article rewriting software. This software was targeted towards those who wants to create content for their website but don’t have the time for writing the new stuff. This software helps them in rewriting an existing article so that it appears unique and get a good ranking in Google. What this particular software does is to give suggestions (by providing synonyms or similar phrase) for every word mentioned in the article so that necessary changes can be made in it. After changing most words of the articles with appropriate similar words, you can get a brand new article.

After the advent of Adsense program from Google, the creation of original content (mainly in the form of articles) has become quite a rage. Read the rest of this entry »
